Help us transform t-shirts into reusable tote bags for community use! This monthly volunteer opportunity is inspired by the River Keepers “T-Shirt to Tote” project and offers a simple, hands-on way to create something practical and meaningful.
No sewing skills are required. Volunteers will follow a step-by-step process to turn t-shirts into sturdy tote bags. Some light ironing is involved, and all instructions will be provided.
This opportunity is a great fit for individuals, families with children, and volunteers who enjoy crafting, creative projects, or short volunteer shifts with a tangible outcome.
Time Commitment:
• 1 hour
• Only 3 volunteers needed per session
Tasks may include:
• Cutting and preparing t-shirts
• Ironing, shaping and tying material
• Assisting with basic organization and cleanup
If you have a group of more than three volunteers who would like to participate together, please reserve all three spots and then email keelyh@churches-united.org with the total number of volunteers so we can accommodate everyone.
All materials and guidance will be provided.
